Ramakrishna Paramhansa
● Sri Ramakrishna was born on February 18, 1836 in a poor Brahmin family in a village called Kamarpukur in Bengal.
● Gadadhar Chattopadhyay was a poor Brahmin priest, who later came to be known as Ramakrishna Paramahansa.
● His father Khudiram Chatterjee was a person of great piety and character and his mother's name was Chandramani Devi.
● He dedicated his life to God and was a devotee of Goddess Kali.
● Ramakrishna was a priest in the Dakshineswar Kali temple and initiated many monastic and householder disciples.
● Ramakrishna Paramhansa was married to Sarada Devi, who was also his spiritual companion.
● Narendra Nath Dutt (1863–1902), later known as Swami Vivekananda, was the most devoted disciple of Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, who took the message of his guru Ramakrishna to the whole world, especially to America and Europe.
● After the death of Ramakrishna in the year 1886, the monastic disciples established the first monastery at Barangor.
