Kashiram
⬧ Kashiram was born on March 15, 1934 in a Dalit family in Ropar district of Punjab.
⬧ After completing his B.Sc, he did a government job as a Class I officer.
⬧ Kashiram was an exponent of the empowerment of the Bahujan Samaj and the founder of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP).
⬧ He resigned from the central government job for social and political work.
⬧ Kashiram studied the literature of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, the biggest opponent of Brahminism, after Buddha, Jyotiba Phule and Periyar.
⬧ On September 24, 1944, Dr. Babasaheb declared the political goal of his struggle in Madras.
⬧ Due to reservation since independence, there used to be an association of Dalit employees in government service.
⬧ Kashiram raised questions related to Dalits and demanded that Ambedkar Jayanti be declared a holiday.
⬧ In the year 1981, he founded the Dalit Shoshit Samaj Sangharsh Samiti or DS4.
⬧ In the year 1982, he wrote 'The Chamcha Age' in which he criticized Dalit leaders who work for a traditional mainstream party like Congress.
⬧ In the year 1984, he founded BSP (Bahujan Samajwadi Party).
⬧ In the politics of North India, the terminology of non-Brahminism was introduced by the BSP, although the parties of the Mandal era were also against the supremacy of the upper castes.
