Colonel Gurbaksh Singh Dhillon
●  Colonel Gurbaksh Singh Dhillon, a brave soldier of Azad Hind Fauj, was born on March 18, 1914 in the then Lahore district.
●  Colonel G.S. Dhillon completed his early education from Lahore.
●  He wanted to become a doctor but due to certain reasons he joined the Indian Army as a commissioned officer in the year 1940.
●  He had to surrender to the Japanese army while fighting on the side of Indian British forces in World War II.
●  When Subhash Chandra Bose formed the Azad Hind Fauj, he joined the Azad Hind Fauj and Subhash Chandra Bose entrusted him with the charge of the Fourth Guerrilla Regiment of the Nehru Brigade.
●  Fighting on behalf of the Azad Hind Fauj, he faced the British army very bravely but he was taken prisoner by the British soldiers and sent to Delhi along with Prem Kumar Sehgal and Shahnawaz Khan.
●  He was court-martialled and tried at the Red Fort in Delhi.
●  Under the leadership of Bhulabhai Desai, Pandit Nehru also advocated his case but he was sentenced to death.
●  He was later released due to public pressure. In the latter part of his life, he made his permanent residence at Hataudi in Shivpuri.
●  In his autobiography 'From My Bones' he has given a very good description of the reason for choosing Shivpuri's land for his residence.
●  In the year 1998, He was honored with the title of 'Padma Bhushan' by the then President K. R. Narayanan.
●  He died on February 6, 2006 while living in Shivpuri.
