double data type is the most important data type in java. Double precision, as denoted by the double keyword, uses 64 bits to store a value. Double precision is actually faster than single precision on some modern processors that have been optimized for high-speed mathematical calculations. • This data type is generally used as the default data type for decimal values, generally the default choice

• Double data type should never be used for precise values such as currency

• Default value is 0.0d
