The new capital of Kazakhstan is 'Astana.' Kazakhstan's President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev recently signed a law limiting presidential terms and reverting the capital's name to Astana. The capital's name was changed to Nur-Sultan in 2019 in honor of outgoing President Nursultan Nazarbayev. The bill also extends presidential mandates to a seven-year term.
